Black Canvas Craftworks was founded in 2021 by a husband and wife driven by their constant flow of vision and creativity, and their ambition to craft mind-blowing print products and wall art based on the African American and Black experience.
Beginning as a local boutique and online shop selling authentic African art pieces, along with wall art designed and created by the owners themselves, Black Canvas Craftworks remains true to its name by offering products that are as deeply textured and multilayered as the people they celebrate.
The artistic force behind the company is Sara, a seasoned graphic designer, layout artist, illustrator, and newly published author of the children’s nature and science book ‘Nature’s Dark Treasures’.
In 2023, the company launched Kids on the Wise, a diverse educational and inspirational children’s brand that specializes in books, wall art, and an empowering graphic t-shirt line that stands out from the crowd.
